Preferred genealogy framework
This archive uses A Poston Family of South Carolina: Its Immigrant Ancestor and Some of His Descendants as the preferred genealogy reference. The stronger framework identifies John Poston and Anthony “Antney” Poston as the early South Carolina brothers, rather than repeating the older “John and Andrew” tradition without explanation.
Andrew Poston’s role
Andrew Poston belongs to a later nineteenth-century generation. His importance to this site is not as an original immigrant or migration-era brother, but as the best-supported namesake figure connected to the railroad-era naming of Poston, South Carolina.
